Thorn in my Side

My artwork, 'A Thorn in My Side,' uses this powerful idiom to explore the complex theme of persistent suffering. The piece visually interprets the idea of a constant source of irritation that cannot be easily removed. The central image of a beautiful rose with prominent, sharp thorns symbolises the dual nature of a relationship or situation that is simultaneously beautiful and painful. The viewer is drawn in by a rich palette of soft pinks, muted purples, and deep reds. These colours represent the conflicting desires to embrace love while also wanting to escape the pain that comes with it
